Eligibility: You must be a sophomore or higher upon arrival in Taiwan and meet WIU study abroad eligibility criteria. Open to all majors.
Location: The Taoyuan Campus is located not far from the CKS International Airport and one of northern Taiwan's Industrial Parks. School transportation is provided by bus to the local train station, public bus stops and the Taipei campus.
Academics: Exchange students are eligible to take all courses available on the campus, including credit courses completely instructed in English as well as Chinese-taught professional programs offered by 36 departments. Students can take advantage of the free Mandarin classes at the Mandarin Cultural and Study Center. Because of calendar differences with the U.S. semesters, an academic year or spring semester abroad is the most feasible way to study at MCU.
Housing: A typical residence hall room is furnished with a single bed, pillow, mattress and mattress cover (students need to furnish own bedding). The rooms include curtains, wardrobe, chest of drawers, study desk and chair, easy chair, mirror, and washbasin (in most rooms). The majority of self-catering kitchens are equipped with an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and ironing board. Private apartments or studios are located within walking distance (15-20 minutes) to campus, and include a private toilet and bath, table, closet and bed.
Spring semester: mid February—late June
