NHL

Eligibility: You must be a junior or higher upon arrival to The Netherlands and meet WIU study abroad eligibility requirements.

Location: The Netherlands has a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural society. Its open culture, economic stability and experience in international education makes it a popular destination for students from all over the world.  NHL University is medium-sized with approximately 10,000 students and is located in the northern part of the country in Leeuwarden, a city with about 95,000 inhabitants.

Academics: Classes at NHL are taught in English and tend to be informal and moderate in size.  Disciplines including Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, and Marketing are available as well as several technological areas.  A Dutch language and culture class will be required of all students. 

Housing: Furnished housing is arranged by the Housing Office Fryslân. Accommodation is available in various settings and price categories, depending on location, quality and sharing of facilities. In general, student accommodation in the Netherlands is quite basic. In most locations you will share kitchen and bathing facilities with other international students.

Program dates:

Spring semester: early February—late June/early July

Fall semester: early September—mid/late January

Due to overlapping semester dates, students are encouraged to study either the entire academic year or the spring semester.
