Program Description:

Sungkyunkwan University

Seoul, Korea


Eligibility: You must be a sophomore or higher upon arrival in Korea, meet WIU study abroad eligibility criteria and have a 2.70 minimum GPA. Open to all majors. 

Location: SKKU is located in the Jongno-gu District in central Seoul. Seoul is a major global city that is home to approximately 26,000 students.

Academics: Exchange students have the following options for their study at SKKU:

1) Courses offered in English only—SKKU currently offers courses in various fields taught in English, such as Economics, Engineering, Natural Sciences and Math, History, Performing Arts, Asian Studies, Arts, Theatre and Dance, Business Administration, Journalism, Communication, and Social Sciences.

2) Courses offered in English and some Korean language study—Many students take courses for their major or minor, but are also interested in learning the Korean language.

3) Mainly Korean language and some courses in English—For students who are mainly interested in studying Korean language; Korean language classes at six different levels are available. 

4) Korean language study only.

Housing: You have the option between residing in the International House (I-House) or an off-campus apartment. Dining options at SKKU are abundant, with locations across the campus offering a variety of dining services. Campus dining offers stately dining halls, convenience stores, coffee shops, and vending machines.
